Dungeon Maker
Deep strategic dungeon defense with endless rogue like replayability
Dungeon Maker flips the classic hero-versus-dungeon formula on its head, putting you in the role of the Dark Lord tasked with building the deadliest labyrinth imaginable. Instead of charging into dungeons, you design them, placing traps, facilities, and monsters to fend off waves of would‑be heroes.
The heart of Dungeon Maker lies in its roguelike structure. Each run starts with a chosen Dark Lord, each offering unique skills and playstyles, and a barebones dungeon you’ll expand room by room. With over 160 traps and facilities, 260 monsters and heroes, and 240 relics, the number of possible synergies is staggering. Runs feel genuinely different depending on your early choices and the random relics and fate cards you pick up along the way.
The daily fate card system is a standout mechanic. At the start of each in‑game day, you choose between battles, events, shops, and more. This adds a light deck‑building flavor, letting you decide whether to risk tougher fights for better rewards or take safer, utility‑focused options. Combined with permadeath-style runs and long‑term unlocks, it creates an engaging loop of experimentation and gradual mastery.
Presentation is charmingly retro, with clean pixel art and punchy combat effects that make even chaotic battles readable. Everything runs smoothly, and being completely offline makes Dungeon Maker ideal for long sessions or quick bursts of theorycrafting on the go.
It’s not flawless: the difficulty curve can be brutal for newcomers, and the grind to unlock later Dark Lords and upgrades may feel demanding. Runs can also start to blur together if you lean on the same overpowered combos. Still, for players who love deep strategy, careful planning, and high replay value, Dungeon Maker is an addictive, content-rich experience that rewards every minute you invest in perfecting your dungeon.
