Grandfather’s Clock Solitaire takes the familiar solo card experience and gives it a clever twist by arranging the entire game around a clock-shaped foundation. Using a standard 52-card deck, every card is dealt face-up from the start, turning each round into a pure test of planning rather than guesswork or luck.

The objective is elegant and thematic: build each foundation pile by suit so that the exposed card at the top matches the correct number on a clock face. At the beginning, twelve specific cards form the clock, from 9♣ through 8♦, and these piles become your foundations. The remaining cards are laid out in eight columns of five, creating a tableau where you build downward regardless of suit, moving only the top card of each pile. Empty columns can be filled with any card, opening crucial tactical opportunities.
