Luna Controller
Turn your phone into a low latency gateway for Luna gaming
Luna Controller is a focused companion tool that brings Amazon’s cloud gaming service to life, whether you own the physical Luna Controller or not. At its core, it acts as a central hub for pairing, configuring, and maintaining your controllers, while also offering a surprisingly capable virtual gamepad directly on your phone.
The app’s biggest strength is how it streamlines Cloud Direct. By guiding your Luna Controller onto Wi-Fi instead of relying solely on Bluetooth, it helps reduce latency and delivers more responsive inputs in fast-paced titles. Toggling between Cloud Direct and Bluetooth is straightforward, making it easy to move from a big-screen Luna session to a more traditional Bluetooth setup on other devices when needed.
For those without a dedicated controller, the Phone Controller mode turns your touchscreen into a fully mapped gamepad. It works well for slower, more methodical games and as a convenient backup when you’re away from your usual hardware. However, like all virtual controls, it’s less ideal for precision-heavy shooters or platformers, where physical buttons still win.
The app also doubles as a management console: you can register multiple Luna Controllers, update their firmware, check battery status, and troubleshoot connection issues. Guest Mode is a welcome bonus, allowing friends to quickly join a local Luna session with their own devices.
On the downside, its usefulness is tightly tied to the Luna ecosystem, offering little value beyond that context. You also need a stable, decent Wi-Fi connection to really benefit from Cloud Direct.
Overall, Luna Controller is a polished, practical companion for Luna players, enhancing both controller-based and touch-based cloud gaming with intuitive tools and solid performance.
