You can instead just take a screenshot with a simple press of an overlay button provided by the app. The app even gives users the freedom to capture screenshots by simply waving a hand in front of a phone or tablet's proximity sensor. Once you've taken a screenshot you can choose to either save it or perform some more in-depth editing.

The app supports a wide variety of editing functions. For example, users can easily rotate or crop images. These functions make it easy to select a particularly important part of a screenshot while removing distracting elements. Of course there's often a lot more to a presentation than simply providing a single image. But Snipping Tool has users covered there as well. In addition to the basic cropping and rotation, we can also produce our own additions to an image.

Snipping Tool provides a straightforward painting tool that makes adding additional elements a breeze. The painting interface consists of color and thickness tools. Color provides us with a wide range of color options for drawings. And the thickness tool can simulate pens or brushes of increasingly larger size. Drawing on the screenshots is as easy as swiping our hands over the screen. We can easily write comments, point out specific regions, circle or highlight elements. The app also gives us the ability to revert any of those edits with a single click of the undo button.
