Mixing up to 18 inputs into 12 buses is handled smoothly, and the app makes it easy to keep track of aux sends, subgroups, and mains.

Where X AIR truly shines is in its effects and processing. You get control over four internal stereo FX slots powered by the X32 audio engine, bringing high-quality reverbs, delays, and modulation effects straight into your live rig. Channel processing includes preamp gain, low-cut filters, phase, phantom power, stereo linking, and parametric EQ, giving you more than enough tools to shape a polished mix on the fly.

Wireless performance largely depends on your network environment, but with the mixers’ built-in access points, basic setups are plug-and-play. Being able to walk the room to fine-tune the house mix or stand on stage to tweak monitors is a game changer for smaller productions.

There are minor drawbacks: on smaller screens, the UI can feel cramped, and the visual design is more functional than modern. However, the included demo mode is a nice touch, letting you learn the workflow without a mixer connected.
