Flud
Powerful torrent client with clean design and no speed limits
Flud brings desktop‑grade BitTorrent features to your pocket in a package that feels both approachable and surprisingly powerful. It focuses on doing one thing well: letting you manage torrents with fine‑grained control, without drowning you in clutter.
The interface follows a clean material design layout, with active, queued, and finished torrents neatly organized. Adding new torrents via files or magnet links is painless, and Flud automatically recognizes magnet links opened from your browser. Once a torrent is added, you can pick exactly which files to download, assign folder and file priorities, and even reorder downloads on the fly.
Power users will appreciate the networking options. Flud supports DHT, PeX, uTP, NAT-PMP and UPnP, making it easier to find peers and maintain solid speeds. There are no built‑in speed limits, but you can set your own caps if you want to preserve bandwidth. Encryption, IP filtering and proxy support for both peers and trackers add an extra layer of privacy and control.
For everyday use, quality‑of‑life features stand out. You can restrict downloads to Wi‑Fi, move files while they’re still downloading, and enable sequential downloading, which is ideal if you want to start watching large media files before they’re fully complete. The app handles torrents with many files or very large files reliably, though SD card limitations on older systems can still get in the way.
Flud is ad‑supported, and while the ads aren’t overwhelming, they slightly detract from the otherwise minimal experience. Still, between its dark and light themes, tablet‑optimized layout, and robust torrent engine, it strikes an excellent balance between simplicity and advanced control for anyone who regularly uses BitTorrent on their device.
