Securus Mobile
Securely stay connected with incarcerated loved ones
Securus Mobile is designed for one very specific purpose: making it easier to maintain communication with someone in custody, and it does this with a focused, utility‑driven approach. Instead of juggling multiple numbers, websites and payment methods, everything is centralized in a single interface.
The heart of the experience is Video Connect. You can enroll directly in the service, schedule sessions, receive notifications, and even sync upcoming calls with your device’s calendar so you’re less likely to miss an appointment. A built‑in connection test helps you check Wi‑Fi or data quality before joining, which is crucial for avoiding dropped or choppy visits. Used with a headset, video sessions are generally clear enough for meaningful conversations, provided the facility supports the feature and your signal is strong.
On the voice side, Securus Mobile lets you manage your AdvanceConnect prepaid calling account. You can add funds, see your current balance, review call details and transaction history, and adjust the phone numbers that are allowed to receive calls. This is particularly helpful for families who need tight control over spending and call access.
Account management tools round out the package: you can create a new Securus Online account, update your password and PIN, set up security questions, manage payment cards, and maintain identification photos without needing a computer.
The app’s design favors function over flair, and some screens can feel dense or dated. New users may also find the number of options and account types a bit confusing at first. Performance can depend heavily on your network and on the correctional facility’s own systems, so the experience isn’t always perfectly consistent.
Overall, Securus Mobile is a practical, if somewhat utilitarian, companion for staying in touch with an incarcerated person and managing the costs that come with it.
