KISS Launcher
Lightning fast launcher with smart search and true privacy
KISS Launcher is a lean, search-centric home screen that strips away clutter and focuses on one thing: getting you to what you need as fast as possible. Instead of hunting through endless grids of icons, you simply start typing the name of an app, contact or setting, and it appears instantly. Over time, KISS learns from your habits, pushing your most-used items to the top so you often only need a couple of keystrokes.
The interface is refreshingly minimal. A clean search bar sits at the core, with a short list of frequently used apps and recent actions below it. There are no flashy animations or bloated widgets, and that’s exactly the point. This ultra-light approach pays off in real performance gains: at around 250 KB, KISS Launcher uses far less memory and battery than most feature-heavy launchers, making it an excellent choice for older or lower-spec devices as well as users who simply value speed.
Privacy is another standout strength. KISS never connects to the internet and keeps all data processing on your device. The use of the Accessibility API is limited to practical features like double-tap to lock the screen, with no data collection involved. Being open-source under GPLv3+, the code is transparent and can be audited or modified by anyone, which further builds trust.
On the downside, users who enjoy heavy visual customization, elaborate gestures or built-in widgets may find KISS a bit too bare-bones. Its philosophy is “less, but faster,” and it sticks to that rigorously.
If you prioritize speed, efficiency and privacy over visual extravagance, KISS Launcher is an outstanding, enduringly usable choice.
