Rather than relying solely on preset clinic programs, it lets you fine‑tune your hearing in real time, in the situations that matter to you.

The interface is clean and clinical without feeling intimidating. From the home screen you can switch programs, tweak volume, and adjust treble, bass, and sensitivity (if your audiologist has enabled these options). Changes are applied instantly to the processor, so it’s easy to move from a quiet room to a noisy street and quickly settle on what sounds best.

One of its standout strengths is integration with Cochlear True Wireless accessories. Separate volume controls for each wireless device make it simple to balance TV, phone calls, and environmental sound. When used on a compatible device that supports ASHA audio streaming, the app also acts as a central hub for streaming audio straight to your processor, turning calls, music, and video into direct, clear input.

The “Find My Processor” feature adds real peace of mind. By logging the last known location when the processor is lost or turned off, it offers a practical way to recover expensive, essential hardware, with GPS used only when necessary.

Nucleus Smart also doubles as a basic hearing diary, tracking time spent in speech and coil offs. These statistics can be useful talking points at your clinical appointments, helping fine‑tune your fitting over time.

On the downside, full functionality depends heavily on device compatibility and on settings chosen by your healthcare professional, which may feel restrictive for advanced users.
