Never After reimagines classic bedtime stories as a colorful action RPG, where Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and other familiar faces become fierce partners on the battlefield rather than damsels in distress. It mixes story-driven questing, party building, and light social elements into an accessible adventure that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

The highlight is its fairy tale world-building. Locations like the Cursed Forest and Fantasy Wonderland lean into dark yet playful twists on Grimms’ tales, with plenty of quirky side characters and absurd dialogue to keep things light. The new Oz Summer Celebration event, along with fresh Awaken Partners and the debuting Prince Black Horse, adds even more whimsy and reasons to revisit older areas.

Combat is fast and flashy, driven by assembling a team of partners and chaining their combo skills. Swapping lineups to counter bosses or new Evil Witches in the latest dungeon update gives the battles some welcome tactical depth. Eudemons, which double as pets and mounts, are another smart touch: you can raise a cute follower that transforms into a powerful steed mid-fight, adding style as well as stat boosts.

The social side is solid, encouraging you to befriend other adventurers for co-op dungeons and group events. It feels designed to be enjoyed with others, and the game rewards teamwork generously. On the downside, menus are busy, systems pile up quickly, and the partner-collection focus can feel grindy or pay-inclined over time.

Still, for players who enjoy character-driven RPGs with a strong fantasy aesthetic, Never After offers an engaging twist on fairy tale lore, combining cooperative play, collectible partners, and mount-raising into a charming, content-rich package.
