Each turn, you jump between boroughs like Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx, scanning fluctuating prices and deciding what to buy low and hopefully sell high later. The rules are simple, but the market swings and random events ensure every run feels different.

The heart of Dope Wars Classic is its risk management. Do you max out your coat with cheap goods or hold space hoping for a huge bargain? Do you rush to pay off the shark early or gamble on one more big score? Unexpected encounters – muggings, cops, lucky finds on corpses or the chance to expand your pockets – constantly force you to rethink your plan. It’s all text and numbers, but the tension is surprisingly strong.

Customizable game lengths (from 30 to a marathon-like 360 days) let you choose between a quick tactical burst or a long-form campaign. An online leaderboard using Google Play Games adds replay value, giving score chasers a clear target. The ability to save and resume is welcome, especially for longer runs, and the English/French language support broadens its appeal.

Visually and technically, it’s deliberately minimal, which fits the retro spirit but may disappoint players seeking flashy presentation or deeper narrative. Still, for fans of classic trading sims and nostalgic strategy experiences, Dope Wars Classic delivers a lean, faithful and addictively replayable package.
